Religious Education 

Growing in Faith, Growing in Christ is a Religious Education program endorsed by the Catholic Bishops of Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Northwest Territories and developed in collaboration with Catholic educators from across Canada.

The program is based on the Catholic Elementary Curriculum Policy Document for Religious Education -Grades 1-8, the Catholic School Kindergarten Program, and the Catholic Secondary Curriculum Policy Document for Religious Education - Grades 9– 12, which has been approved by the Catholic Bishops and Regional Assemblies of Bishops. It reflects the content of faith expressed in the Catechism of the Catholic Church and follows the rationale and methodology of the General Directory for Catechesis.

Faith Alive

Edmonton Catholic Schools provides a Catholic education that inspires students to learn and that prepares them to live fully and to serve God in one another, yet we cannot do this alone. Our parents have the first responsibility for the education of their children. They bear witness to this responsibility first by creating a home where tenderness, forgiveness, respect, and fidelity serve as the rule. (CCC, 2223) Our families are a vital part of our school division and we want our students together with their families to use this website as a tool to freely explore and discover the beauty of our faith. Through prayer, worship and study, we grow to become active witnesses to the love of Jesus Christ.
