Family Values, Phones & Social Media: Creating Healthy Digital Rhythms with Dion Matheson, M.Ed (Equipped Parenting)
How do we help our children develop a healthy relationship with technology while still enjoying the benefits it offers?
In this parent engagement session, we’ll take a step back from the constant conversation about screen time
and look at the bigger picture: What kind of family life do we want to create, and how does technology fit into that?
We’ll explore practical ways to create healthy rhythms and boundaries around phones, social media, gaming, etc., while making space for the things children and youth need to thrive, including
connection, play, creativity, movement, and downtime.
Parents will leave with ideas for creating intentional technology habits, navigating the challenges that come with growing up in a digital world, and helping their children develop the skills to use technology as a
tool rather than something that simply fills their time.
Together, we’ll look at how small changes can help create healthier technology habits for the whole family.
